Rung half muffled to commemorate the climax of the Coventry Blitz, which occurred on 14th November 1940 and was one of the most destructive air raids of World War Two. 500 tonnes of high explosives and 33,000 incendiary bombs dropped on the city.
Also rung half muffled to commemorate the terrorist attacks in Paris yesterday (13/11), in which 132 people lost their lives, and that number is still rising.
Finally, rung half muffled to commemorate Willie Edward Vater, a loyal ringer here at Sturminster Marshall, who died in 1915 during WW1.
