Rung, belatedly, on St George's Day - following an earlier unsuccessful attempt on the anniversary date - to commemorate the bicentenary on 9 April of the birth of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, reflecting his association with Swindon and the town's role in the development of the Great Western Railway.
St Mark's church, adjacent to the railway line and across the tracks from what remains of the former GWR works, was built to serve the community of the railway village that formed the heart of New Swindon.
First peal in the method.
