UMPIRES' REPORT.
The bells went into changes at 12.13pm and the final rounds came up at 5.17pm after 84 extents, giving 10,080 changes. The recorded duration was 5 hours, 4 minutes and 15 seconds. The three-callings composition was checked throughout, each lead end being recorded, and was conducted precisely as intended. The two conducting hesitations noted were corrected immediately with no effect on the ringing. Each extent was timed using lapsed time and real time clocks. The first extent, the slowest, took 3 minutes 50 seconds, but as the ringing settled, it gradually speeded up. At the halfway, the time was 2-35-21, giving an extent average of 3-42. In contrast, the second half averaged 3-34 per extent. Though a number of 'clips' and occasional uneven rows were noted, a high standard was maintained throughout. The ringers are heartily congratulated on their achievement.
