Arranged to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn on 14th July 1865, the last of the major alpine peaks to be summited. There were 7 in Edward Whymper's party, but 4 of them fell to their deaths whilst descending: one of these was Rev Charles Hudson, Vicar of this church.
