Rung during a fund-raising Coffee Morning for Devon Air Ambulance.
Over a period of several months the Wilford family and friends have been raising money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust; Coffee mornings, younger members of the family have been running half-marathons and 10 K's. Today's Coffee Morning, held in Church whilst a peal was in progress was a further fund raising event. The Air Ambulance saved Kate Wilford's life in September, 2010, when she had a severe heart attack and went into cardiac arrest.
Prior to today, the Wilford's had raised over £2000 and are very grateful to everyone who has helped.
It is also congratulations to Mervyn Way on his Presidency of The Devon Association at the tower, and on the bell on which he was taught to ring 60 years ago. This peal also coincides with the 22nd anniversary, to the day, of Mervyn's first peal.
Hopefully David Wilford will celebrate his 65th birthday on July 11th and 50 years of peal ringing, averaging 1.9 peals per year!
