Specially arranged and rung by a Central Branch band in fond memory of our dear friend Mary Underwood of Stow, wife to John F. Underwood, on the morning of her funeral. Mary peacefully passed away at home on Sunday 4th February after a brave battle against cancer.
Mary was known for her Kindness and Generosity. She never complained, never had a bad word to say against anyone and was always smiling. You could not have wished to have met a nicer lady!
She was known far and wide for her hospitality and for the teas she put on for ringers after practices. You can not start to imagine the huge amount and variety of food she would prepare and put on for the ringers. She was especially known for her Trifles and Chocolate Cakes and would often be heard saying “go help your self to some more food!” You never left the Underwood house hold Hungry!!! in fact you normally left with doggy bags and pack ups!!!
She was a magnificent lady and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her!
Our thoughts are especially with John Underwood, a regular member of this band and the rest of his family at this difficult time.
There are many ringers within the branch who would like to be associated with this Quarter Peal, especially Margaret Parker, Sandra Rhodes & Sue Waterfall!
