St Andrew Saturday, 1 November 2014 in 2h 47 (12) 5040 Stedman Doubles 1 David C Brown (C) 2 Faith J Pearce 3 Simon A Rudd 4 Ben Trent 5 Richard P J Carter 6 Peter J Trent Rung half-muffled to commemorate the death 100 years ago today of Sgt John William "Charles" Cremer, 4.4.1869-1.11.1914, the first Ryburgh man to die in the First World War. Sgt Cremer joined the Army in 1888; he served in the 44th Brigade, Royal Field Artillerey. He met his death at Polygon Wood near Ypres from enemy shell fire.
