Rung half-muffled for Remembrance Sunday.
In particular memory of John Edward Charman, killed in action 21st August 1915, aged 25; James William Miles, killed in action 6th November 1917, aged 25; and Alfred Charles Comper Yates, killed in action 6th November 1917, aged 28; all of whom were ringers at Horsham.
It is of note that James Miles and Alfred Comper Yates were both killed on the same day fighting together in the Third Battle of Gaza and are buried together in Beersheba War Cemetery. They had volunteered together, joining the 4th Battalion the Royal Sussex Regiment on the same day, in Park Street, Horsham, with Army numbers only one apart. John Charman was killed fighting in Gallipoli with no known grave.
