The first non-conducted peal in Lancashire and probably the North of England. The peal was rung by members of the local band as a 'farewell' to the six bells which are going to be rehung and two trebles added to make the octave, by Messrs. Taylor & Co., of Loughborough. (See RW 0101.0129 and 0101.134).
