To celebrate the joy and fellowship of ringing.
Five “ Brians” after 67 years.
The quarter at Monkton, Devon was the second attempt to ring an "all-Brian” quarter. The first was thwarted by the fog and snow of January, this one by last minute work demands of one of the band. Still never mind - we can but ring again, maybe at Haselbury Bryan next time. In the meantime our thoughts are with Brian Coles, and our special thanks to Tom Travers who, after a quick baptism, stood in to save the day. Still Tom could say that it was the first time he’d rung a quarter with five Brians. Mind you he’s only been ringing for 67 years. One other offshoot of the attempt was the demand from behind the scenes for a quarter peal of "Marilynns". Now we Brians can’t help with that so can anyone else?
