To commemorate the fiftieth year of the venerable Mr W. Smith being a member of the society.

On Monday evening, April 7, the Society of Stephen’s Ringers ascended All Saints Church, Bristol, and rang a true and complete peal of grandsire triples, to commemorate the fiftieth year of the venerable Mr W. Smith being a member of the above society. The bells were well struck and brought round in a masterly style in 2h 50min; the peal contained 60 bobs and 210 (sic) singles. The ringers were stationed as follows:— J Manditt treble, W. Dowling second, A. Yorke third, J. Wilkie fourth, W. Thomas fifth, J. Price sixth, W. Stadder seventh, and J. Cowlishaw tenor.
