Ringing before and after a Special Ringers' Evensong to Celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the casting of the Tenor bell in 1824 and to mark the 70th Anniversary of the recasting of the other 9 bells and rehanging of the ring in 1954. Jim Rooke who learnt to ring bells at St Alfege attended the service - he rang for the Dedication of the bells in October 1954.
All of the Meridian Ringers wish to be associated with this ringing.
After the service members of the congregation came up to the ringing chamber to watch some ringing take place. A splendid tea in the hall followed - many thanks to all those who helped with this!
