"The Ugly" is a famous landmark on Lundy Island, a lookout shelter once used to monitor sea traffic. In the late 19th century, it was named as such by Mrs A A Heaven who deemed it to be less attractive than the neighbouring Millcombe House.
Rung to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings, and especially to remember Sapper Bernard Paul Cordwell from Woodchester, Gloucestershire, the only ringer known to have been killed during the early stages of the landings. Their name liveth for evermore.
First peal in the method.
