Rung by a band of hillwalkers/mountaineers to commemorate the centenary of the last sighting of George Leigh Mallory and Andrew Irvine on the north side of Everest, 8th June 1924.
George Leigh Mallory came from Mobberley: his father and grand-father were both Rectors here.
The peal was scheduled for the exact anniversary, before being cancelled by the church at short notice.
Thought to be the first time that two Everest summiteers have rung a peal together: 1 and 6.
400th tower for a peal: 4.
