First peal of Surprise Royal - 7. First peal in the method on the bells and first of Yorkshire Royal in the county and for the Guild. Rung as a 75th birthday compliment to the Rev. Canon H. A. Moreton, M.Lilt., Dr-es-Lettres. F.R.Hist.S., who was ordained in Ripon Cathedral 50 years ago, and has completed 29 years as Chancellor and Canon Residentiary of Hereford Cathedral.
