Practice Night rung with the bells half muffled as a mark of respect and in memory of Peter Richard Reeve of Leadenham Hall.
Rung following the short private family service of prayers after Peter’s coffin was borne by family members from Leadenham Hall to be received into the Church on the eve of his funeral, where he will lie overnight.
Peter died on 18th February 2024 aged 76. As one of his Manorial duties he was Patron of the Living of St Swithun’s Church. Leadenham Hall which stand directly next door to the Church was built between 1790 & 1796 by William Reeve and has been the seat of the Reeve’s family ever since.
