Rung to celebrate the 300th anniversary this year of the casting of the complete peal of five bells for Leadenham in 1723 by Daniel Hedderly, the current back five bells although the original tenor was recast in 1866. The new treble was added in 1855 to augment them to the current peal of six.
Rung on New Years Eve marking the passing of the Old Year.
‘Ring out the old, ring in the new; Ring, happy bells, across the snow; The year is going, let him go; Ring out the false, ring in the true.’
(Longest length on the bells for 17 years since the last peal rung here in Dec 2006)
