Messrs Baddeley hail from Lawton; Weatherby from Market Drayton; Johnson from Sandbach; the others from Crewe. The band was chosen as far as possible to represent old ringing friends in the branch, and is believed to be the first peal rung by a naval artificer. After the peal the ringers were kindly entertained to supper by Mr Middleton and his step-father, Mr George Harding, a very pleasant evening terminating about 11pm Bell News October 18th 1902 No. 1071 Vol. XXI page 333 This peal included a first peal ringer on bell 8.
