First peal: 8
Rung as a birthday compliment to Mr William Evetts, on attaining his majority, also as a birthday compliment to Mr George Harding. This peal was attempted on the previous Saturday, on the occasion of the laying of the foundation stone of the New Hospital at Crewe, but came to grief after ringing 3400 changes in two hours. The ringers then decided to make another attempt on the following practice night, with the results shown above.
