Average age 19 years 8 months. A wedding compliment to Hilda Prescott and William H. Kingcott. Belfry Gossip writes: A new triumph for youth was established at Trowbridge last Saturday, when a peal of Stedman Cinques was rung. The average age of the band was 19 years 8 months. John E. Chilcott was the conductor and there were three ladies in the party — the Misses Joyce England, Jill Brittain and Audrey Diserens. They claim that this was the youngest band to ring a peal on twelve bells. The peal was composed by a member of the band, David E. Parsons. The majority of the band came from the Metropolitan area, and they trust that their success will serve as a spur to their friends at Leicester. RW1950 p290 | |
