Rung in fond memory of Fran Brealey, on the bells she loved. Fran exited the Church through the ground floor belfry and out the great west doors to her final resting place in the Churchyard within the shadow of the tower.
Rung half muffled immediately after the burial had taken place out in the Churchyard as the family departed.
Fran and her husband Reg are responsible for the current ring of eight being hung at Welbourn. They financed the removal of the unringable eight at Hagworthingham Lincs when the tower there collapsed and paid for their restoration and rehanging here at Welbourn in 1978.
Fran was a good friend to ringers and you were always guaranteed of a warm welcome when ever you came to ring at Welbourn. The bells were always available if nothing was taking place in Church and Fran would always try to make the effort to be present in person to greet visiting ringers.
Her memory will live on each time her beloved bells peal out.
