'Morpeth Changeringers – At the weekly practice in the Old Clock Tower on Wednesday night, the members of the local association succeeded in ringing a peal of Oxford Treble Bob Minor, 720 changes in 27 minutes, the ringers standing as follows: Treblle, C. B. Kay; 2, G. R. Harrison; 3, T. Oram; 4, C. O. Sayer; 5, J. Armstrong; tenor, Oswald Simm (conductor). This is the first 720 of Treble Bob by all except Messrs. Simm and Sayer. The Morpeth ringers have also been engaged lately in the practice of the intricate method of StedmanDoubles of which several six-scores have been brought round; whilst an attempt of 5,000 of Bob Major came to grief after about 800 changes'.
