Rung by the local band as part of the national ‘Ring Out for COP26’.
For the occasion we rang a specially composed symbolic piece of ringing, which consisted of:
The first part contains chaotic ringing with the bells ringing randomly building up to the point where all the bells are firing together. This is to represent the chaos climate change is having on our planet.
The second part contains the more mournful ringing with whole pull and stand being rung followed by the tenor tolling on its own. This is to represent the death of the planet and the damage being done.
The third part contains the building up of the bells one at a time into rounds repeated a number of times then into the more joyful ringing consisting of call changes which is to represent rebirth and hope for a better planet in the future as we tackle climate control.
An explanation of the ringing was posted on the village facebook page and has received many positive comments.
This was not political ringing it was ringing to celebrate God’s creation!
