Rung to mark the passing of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
At 19:00, “Abide with Me”, followed by 99 chimes and another verse of “Abide with Me” was rung using the Ellacombe Chimes.
At 18:00, the vicar, Prebendary Nigel Guthrie, tolled 99 times on the single bell, at our daughter church of St Michael and All Angels, Mount Dinham.
When St Michael’s was built in 1868 a 26 cwt. tenor for a proposed ring of 10 was installed, this never happened and the single bell is chimed from the nave.
