In parallel with cannon fire from the East Lawn of Windsor Castle, during the procession prior to the funeral, at St George’s Chapel, of His Royal Highness, the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
Nine blows at minute intervals. The bell was rung full circle.
Rung with the assistance of Vikki Bulbeck (coordination and timing) and James White (on the frame), and army personnel giving the signals to start and stop.
(Earlier in the afternoon the bell was raised silently, and it was lowered silently after the service.)
