To commemorate the 275th Anniversary of the Battle of Culloden and remember the lives lost. Fought on a site 5 miles east of Inverness on 16th April 1746, it involved the deaths of some 1,600 men - over 1,500 of them Jacobites. It was the last pitched battle fought on British soil.
