As part of the National Day of Refection, a single bell was tolled for a few minutes, at one minute past the hour, for each hour during the afternoon. Then again at 8pm. This was done by four (family) groups each ringing a different bell.
Finally the west front of the Cathedral was illuminated at 8pm and the tenor was tolled.
