St Laurence Tuesday, 25 August 1885 in 26m (23–0–20 in D) 575 Grandsire Caters 1 A E Reeves 2 F W Round 3 H M Bawden 4 J Potter 5 W H Holloway 6 W Johnson 7 W Goseltine 8 W J Williams (C) 9 W Newell 10 R T Hibbert On Tuesday, August 25th, an attempt was made at St. Laurence's for a quarter-peal of Grandsire Triples, with the bells half-muffled, for the Rev. H. T. Ellacombe, late Rector of Clyst St. George, Devon, but after ringing 826 changes in 35 mins., the tenor rope broke, thus bringing it to grief.
