St George the Martyr Friday, 14 August 1885 (14–2–24 in F) Unknown 1 W Pritchett 2 H Gummer 3 W H Blackaby 4 G Woodage (C) 5 F Perrin 6 H Welch 7 H Langdon 8 J Sumers On Friday, the 14th August, eight members of the Society of Southwark Youths rang a muffled peal as a last mark of respect to the memory of the Rev. H. T. Ellacombe, late rector of Clyst St. George, Devon, and also a member of the Ancient Society of College Youths, who died in his 96th year. The bells were rung whole-pulls and stand, in a manner indicative of the age of the late rev. gentleman. Conducted by Mr. G. Woodage, steeple-keeper.
