Rung to celebrate the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Celebrating the Patronal Festival of this the Civic Church and also the Patronal Festival of the City as a whole.
The fifth of the six Feast’s of the Blessed Virgin Mary that we ring for annually.
The 11th century dedication stone located on the outside west face of the tower reads "Eirtig had me built and endowed to the glory of Christ and St. Mary, XP"
The ringing took place using a combination of social/support bubbles and social distancing with all the ringers wearing face coverings.
