To mark the 75th anniversary of VJ Day, tenor chimed 75 times using clock hammer while an extract from the radio broadcast by HM King George VI on 15 August 1945 was read aloud in the churchyard.

"We have spent freely of all that we had ; now we shall have to work hard to restore what has been lost and to establish peace..."
