(The Death Knell & Nine Tailors - being: three lots of three for the Nine Tailors followed by 100 tolls representing the deceased's age).
6 Christopher C P Woodcock
The traditional Death Knell & Nine Tailors rung / tolled on the tenor bell at dusk as a mark of respect and in fond memory of local ringer and former long standing village resident RON APPLEWHITE who sadly passed away yesterday, 22nd May, aged 100. Rest in Peace dear friend, now reunited with his beloved wife Molly.
RING out, wild bells, to the wild sky,
~ The flying cloud, the frosty light:
~ The year is dying in the night;
~ Ring out, wild bells, and let him die.
RING out the old, ring in the new,
~ Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
~ The year is going, let him go;
~ Ring out the false, ring in the true.
RING in the valiant man and free,
~ The larger heart, the kindlier hand;
~ Ring out the darkness of the land,
~ Ring in the Christ that is to be.
(Rung in full accordance with the Diocese’s Covid Guidelines, with the permission of the Rector and the full backing and support of the PCC.)

This performance was rung In memoriam — Ron Applewhite
