Rung prior to our Summer Festival Service in fond memory of Pam Garner who sadly passed away just over a year ago.
Pam served as Church Warden here at St Andrew’s for 19 years (1998 – 2017), sat on the PCC for 33 years up until 2017 and had been Organist here for 35 years. Pam was also Chair of the Bell Fund Committee between 1999 & 2004 when we were raising funds to restore and augment our bells.
She is greatly missed by us all, not only for her loyal and tireless dedication and commitment to this Church but also her warm kind smile which she would always greet you with.
At the special service today we dedicated the new Paschal candle stand which has been donated to the Church in memory of Pam.
Yesterday (10th August) would have been Pam’s 90th birthday so we were pleased to be able to welcome Caroline (Pam’s daughter) and Christopher (Pam’s son-in-law) to be able to ring with us today in this special quarter peal – which was of a suitable/significant length.
All of the local band wish to be associated with this quarter but especially Yvonne Woodcock, Ray Cucksey & Ron Applewhite.
(No. 440) (Rung also for the Lincoln Diocesan Guild)
