Specially arranged and rung by the local band to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 and man first setting foot upon the surface of the moon!
Remembering especially Neil Armstrong. The following quarter was rung in memory of him back in 2012 following his death https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1079548 rung on the back six at Ingoldmells, Lincs, of which bells 3 to 7 were all cast in 1969, the year in which Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. The third bell has the following inscription cast on it “This bell was cast in the year during which man first set foot upon the surface of the moon”.
We also rang the following quarter on Christmas Eve 2018 marking the 50th anniversary of Apollo 8, the first manned space mission to orbit the moon https://bb.ringingworld.co.uk/view.php?id=1263994
