Rung by the local band to mark the centenary of the National Peace Day Celebrations which took place on this day in 1919 celebrating the end of the Great War and the coming of Peace. The whole of Great Britain celebrated Victory & Peace with bells pealing out in celebration all over the country.
We were specially requested to ring the bells today at Martin as part of the Centenary Peace Day Celebrations which took place at the Manor House in Martin, replicating the celebrations which took place 100 years ago. The Centenary Peace Day Celebrations at the Manor today were officially opened by the Lord-Lieutenant of Lincolnshire and included a tree planting ceremony, bonfire lighting, fireworks & the ringing of the bells.
"Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace."

This performance is linked to the event Lincolnshire Association — Centenary of the End of the Great War
