The traditional ‘Mayor’s Peal’ rung on the bells at the Civic Church on the day of the City’s Mayor Making, one of the traditional City Corporation ringing customs as observed since 1728.
Rung to mark the 813th anniversary of Mayoralty of the City of Lincoln immediately following the City Mayor Making Ceremony which was held at the City Guildhall, to welcome the new Mayor, Councillor Sue Burke, who was sworn into Office at today’s Ceremony as the 813th Right Worshipful Mayor of Lincoln.
Rung also as a farewell to the outgoing Mayor of Lincoln Councillor Keith Weaver, who was the Patron of the Company of Civic Ringers, and to welcome the following new members of the City of Lincoln Civic Party:
