The traditional Holy Week silence broken in solidarity of Notre-Dame and the people of Paris following the devastating fire at the Cathedral on Monday evening, but also in thanksgiving for the survival of the Grand Organ and much of the Stained Glass including the fine medieval Rose Windows, all of which Notre-Dame is famed for.
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: a time to break down, and a time to build up.” Ecclesiastes 3.
Rung by the local band with the bells fully muffled for Lent prior to the Maundy Thursday service as part of the national ringing for Notre-Dame.
1504 changes specially chosen to represent the date of the fire (15th Apr - 15/04).
(Rung also for the Lincoln Diocesan Guild)
