St Peter and St Paul Saturday, 22 February 1919 (22 in E♭) 2000 Grandsire Doubles Rung with a 7-6-8 cover 1 William Tassell (Borden) 2 Frederick Culmer (Borden) 3 William Peck (Borden) 4 B Peck (Borden) 5 Ernest J Dobbie (Milton Regis) 6 Stanley B Dobbie (Milton Regis) 7 Thomas Jull (Bobbing) 8 William Spice (Tunstall) (C) Especially arranged and rung half-muffled at the same time as a great memorial service for the Great War fallen, at St Clements-in-the-Strand, London, WC. This long touch was rung especially remembering local ringers who fell: Richard Staines, Frederick Staines, George Mills. NB: details as given in a local newspaper cutting of the time; I suspect the band have been grouped by tower and are in the wrong order. The local men likely rang the 7-6-8. 1 person likes this | |
