Rung with the bells half muffled in memory of the following two Lincoln men who died due to the Great War during December 1918. Specially rung to commemorate the centenary of their deaths, We will remember them.
FREDERICK CHARLES HARSTON, Private 6184, 1st Battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment. Died 28th December 1918, aged 33.
CHARLES ALBERT STANNEY, Air Mechanic 3rd Class, Royal Air Force. Died 1st December 1918, aged 26. Buried in St Swithin's Cemetery, Lincoln.

Honourable age does not depend on length of days, nor is the number of years a true measure of life.
They are all commemorated on the City War Memorial on the High Street.
