Rung half-muffled on the centenary of the death of Private Wilfred John Smith. Wilfred enlisted at Stowmarket; he was serving as a Private in the 12th (Service) Battalion, Suffolk Regiment when he was taken prisoner. His date of death on 10 December 1918, aged 19, suggests that he was still in German hands when he died. He was survived by an orphan child. Private Wilfred Smith was buried in Berlin South-Western Cemetery.

This performance is linked to the event Buxhall, Suffolk: In memoriam our fallen (1914-1918).
