Rung by the local band on Armistice Day as part of the national ringing ‘Ringing Remembers’ around 12.30pm, in the form of a chain/relay of ringing beginning at 11.40am and finishing at 4.55pm between 7 Churches. Rung with the bells half muffled to mark the Centenary of the Armistice remembering all those who were killed during the Great War 1914-1918.
We Will Remember Them!
"Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace."
Also remembering Sergeant G. Mackman (who was a ringer just up the High Street from here at the former Corporation Church of St Peter-at-Arches) who served in the Great War and survived.
