Rung half-muffled in memory of Edward 'George' Perry of this Parish who died aged 20 on this day in 1918. He was not called up until June 1918, becoming a Private with the 9th Battalion the Norfolk Regiment. He embarked for France on 11th October, joined the battalion at the front on 20th October and was wounded by shell fire the following day. Although sent back to the war hospital in Exeter on 4th November he died of his wounds and septicaemia on 5th December. He is buried in the churchyard at Little Dunmow.
