Lest We Forget
Specially arranged and rung on the eve of Armistice Day with the bells half muffled to mark the Centenary of the Armistice. Rung remembering all those who were killed during the Great War 1914-1918, especially the 18 men & boys from this village who did not return.
At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, We Will Remember Them!
Their Name Liveth For Evermore
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.
Rung prior to the screening of the film ‘War Horse’ here in Church this evening, the beginning of the village’s weekend of Armistice commemorations.
St Martin’s Doubles was specially chosen as the Armistice fell on St Martin’s Day. First peal in the method for all the band.
The ringers of 1, 2, 3, 5 & 6 are all members of the local band.
50th peal together: 3 & 5 (Mother & Son).
"Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace."

This performance is linked to the events: Saint Andrew's and All Saints Society — Potterhanworth Remembers (WW1 commemorations) and Ringing for the Centenary of the WWI Armistice
