The ring was to commemorate the same performance rung by 14 year old Clarence Fry on 12th October 1913. Clarence was a member of Bath & Wells DACR and subsequently joined the Wiltshire Regiment 1st Battalion. He died of the wounds he received fighting in France on 5th November 1918 and is buried in Bridgwater. His original performance was printed in the Ringing World page 258 dated 17/10/1913 and was recently reprinted by Alan Regan in RW page 1033, 26/10/2018.
