Rung half-muffled in memory of Corporal (Acting Sergeant) William Thomas Whitehead 1st/1st Royal Buckinghamshire Hussars, died in Cairo on 23rd November 1917. William was a ringer at this tower. It was only discovered recently that he was a ringer which is why he was not remembered on the centenary of his death, but on the 101st anniversary. Also remembering Corporal Joseph Charles Whitehead, Oxford & Bucks Light Infantry, died 11th July 1916 who was also a ringer, Private Willian Frank Bull, died 9th March 1917, Private Christopher Boughton Shouler, died 9th April 1917, Lance Corporal John B Merry, died 16th August 1917, and Private Herbert Reginald Ambler, died 16th October 1917. This concludes the series of quarter peals rung to commemorate the men of Padbury who died on the First World War
