A team effort for Ringing Remembers.
1 to 6 rang half-muffled Call Changes, Grandsire Doubles and Plain Bob Doubles ahead of the 9.30am Eucharist conducted by 4, while the rest of the band rang half-muffled at nearby Consett to enable both towers to be covered for this special occasion.
New learner 7 rang assisted backstroke for Rounds and Call Changes.
Ringers 8 to 13 returned from Consett to ring half-muffled ahead of the 11am Act of Remembrance.
Open ringing took place for the 12.30 Ringing Remembers event with Call Changes, various Doubles methods, Plain Bob Minor, Little Bob Minor and Cambridge Surprise Minor.
Our Ringing Remembers recruit (5) joined all 3 sessions for Call Changes and covered for Doubles and credit must be given to 12, who returned to ringing after a 25 year break to be part of Armistice 100 - Ringing Remembers.
14 is to be associated with this performance, one of our Benfieldside ringers who was unable to join us on Remembrance Sunday, but instead joined St. Wilfrid's York for two services to ring Call Changes on 10.
