Rung by the local band on Armistice Day as part of the national ringing ‘Ringing Remembers’ around 12.30pm, in the form of a chain/relay of ringing beginning at 11.40am and finishing at 4.55pm between 7 Churches. Rung with the bells half muffled to mark the Centenary of the Armistice remembering all those who were killed during the Great War 1914-1918.
We Will Remember Them!
"Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace."
Rung especially remembering Private WILLIAM HENRY ROSSINGTON who was killed in action on 15th April 1918 aged 21. William was a ringer at this Church.
We set ourselves the challenge of recruiting 4 new ringers for today's Armistice Ringing as part of the 'Ringing Remembers' campaign as we lost 4 ringers from our local towers in the Great War.
The ringers of 1, 2 & 3 all learnt as part of the ‘Ringing Remembers’ campaign taught by the conductor. Thomas Ginty our other ‘Ringing Remembers’ recruit wishes to be associated with this performance.

This performance is linked to the event Ringing for the Centenary of the WWI Armistice
