Lest We Forget
Rung by the local band on Armistice Day prior to the 10.15am Remembrance Service, with the bells half muffled to mark the Centenary of the Armistice. Rung remembering all those who were killed during the Great War 1914-1918, especially the 18 men & boys from this village who did not return.
We especially remember this year the centenary’s of the deaths of:
ALBERT LESLIE CLAYTON (16th Apr 1918, aged 20),
HAROLD RICHARD WILSON (8th Aug 1918, aged 20),
ALBERT EDWARD NELSON (14th Sept 1918, aged 30),
HERBERT WILKINSON (date of death unknown 1914-1918).
We Will Remember Them!
Their Name Liveth For Evermore
When You Go Home, Tell Them Of Us And Say, For Your Tomorrow, We Gave Our Today.
"Ring out the thousand wars of old, Ring in the thousand years of peace."
First quarter drumming behind.
Whole pull and stand was rung up to service time.
(No. 402) (Rung also for the Lincoln Diocesan Guild)

This performance is linked to the events Saint Andrew's and All Saints Society — Potterhanworth Remembers (WW1 commemorations) and Ringing for the Centenary of the WWI Armistice.
