Sgt Alfred Herbert Grooms MM, 2/4th Battalion Royal Leicestershire Regiment, killed in action 24th March 1918, was the great grandfather of the ringer of the 5th.
Lt Charles D D Swain, 186th Siege Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, died 29th Sept 1917 in the battle of Polygon Wood, Ypres, was the great great uncle of the tenor ringer.
