The 'Roaring Chorus' was New Zealand's 2018 emulation of the public reaction to the arrival on 12/11/1918 of the news of the Armistice. The Chorus broke the two minutes' silence at 11.02am, the bells of St.Matthew's being invited to open the church's contribution to the noise! Beginning with four blows of firing, rounds were rung on all 8 with individual bells stood to change ringers without stopping the continuous 15 minutes, so that all 15 ringers were able to take part. Position numbers indicate where the front 8 started. Numbers 9 and above swapped in and out, before 1-8 rang five courses of PH7 (most on other bells).
11,12,13 recruited for 'Ringing Remembers'.

This performance is linked to the event Ringing for the Centenary of the WWI Armistice
